THE CONSTITUTION HAS AND WILL SAVE AMERICA: NOT REVOLUTION

THE CONSTITUTION HAS AND WILL SAVE AMERICA: NOT REVOLUTION

BY DOMENICK J. MAGLIO PH.D.   NEW TRADITIONALIST

The vast majority of US citizens do not understand the exceptionalism of our constitution. On one side there is dissatisfaction with this traditional document by people who want rapid change to instantly correct inequities in our societies. The other side is frightened that our constitution is being cynically dismantled leaving citizens stripped of their right to freedom and property.

Both sides have members who advocate a violent revolution as the only means of either abolishing or restoring the founding father’s legacy to our nation. Our founders were well read common sense giants who understood that a violent revolution would result in destruction, death and chaos.

They intensely studied history of past civilizations to glean the best form of government. These great levelheaded men spent over forty days in debate of the best means of formulating the document. Their long and careful deliberation did not end in rancor but in consensus of conviction of the principles of the constitution.

These self educated, committed and brave leaders were realists who understood human nature, the corrupting influence of power and the wisdom of the people. They did not believe that expert intellectuals had more competence in running the country than did the people.

The constitution that they crafted has delivered us through historical crises over the past 230 years. From the succession of George Washington to the War of 1812, the Civil War, numerous recessions and depressions including the Great Depression, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and through the Iraq war our nation has weathered the storm of each of these crises.

The ship our founders built is sturdy and possesses a wonderful stabilizing system. It was deliberately made to be difficult and slow to turn. The steering mechanism was brilliantly designed to avoid quick turns to the right or the left that may result in capsizing.  It was built to withstand the forces that pull us toward chaotic freedom without responsibility, as well as countervailing winds that might push us to abandon all our freedoms for tyranny.

We are not a “Banana Republic” with constant political revolution. The strength of our nation over time has been our stability and predictability provided by our constitution.

The US currency, protection of our property, freedom of speech and the free enterprise system has been the envy of the world.

The implementation of three branches of government, checks an balances and the amendment process makes our constitution as much a relevant document today as it was at its inception.

The limiting of the federal government’s power, state’s rights and the ability of the people to vote out non-representative elected officials makes a violent revolution unnecessary and unlikely. Our constitution provides for citizens to have the power to make the representatives of government accountable. We the People are rearing our heads demanding the constitution be followed. It has and will continue to restrain tyranny.

American citizens have the magnificence of a divinely inspired constitution giving us the opportunity for a peaceful revolution every 2, 4 and 6 years. The only thing necessary to achieve these changes is aware citizenry who unite and rise up to do their civic duty by voting out the unprincipled and corrupt. Our constitution gives the power to the people not the elite.

Our forefathers handed us a great document for a federal republic on a silver platter. It limits the base nature of man that frees us to focus on being a civilized and prosperous people. The only things we need to do are get involved and unite in telling our representatives what we want. They either do what we want or we find other more patriotic people who will do their constitutional duty.

The present undermining of our constitution by the political elite is the people’s fault. We have not exercised our civic power. Citizens must stay politically aware to select the representatives who will uphold the constitution. We need to stand up in political forums and even go to the street to protest unconstitutional actions. Government officials work for us, the people. We will never accept being dependent slaves to the state.

When we reach the tipping point of the anti constitutionalist elite jeopardizing the stability and freedom inherent in our constitution by resorting to violence we have an obligation to bear arms to regain our constitution.  The rejection of the blueprint of our freedom: our constitution, should never be accepted by the American people.
